"A Party for Betty"

curated by Matteo Zauli and Lori-Ann Touchette

4 September – 4 October 2026
Museo Carlo Zauli

A Party for Betty” by Paolo Porelli is an eclectic group of maiolica bas-relief figures created in the extraordinary atmosphere of Betty Woodman’s studio in Tuscany in 2021. Using her ceramic colours and firing the pieces in her artisan kiln, Betty’s influence is evident, taking on the expressive freshness that Paolo Porelli develops through his creative versatility. The installation presents itself as a gathering of diverse individuals who, by taking part in their party, wish to emphasise a desire for peaceful and harmonious coexistence amongst peoples, ethnic groups, races and genders.
