PARTY FOR BETTY

The works presented here were made during a Woodman family residency at the house of Betty and George Woodman,in Antella, just outside Florence Italy. Influenced by being surrounded by the works of Betty for the month, I chose to produce a series of bas-relief figures painted with a selection of her glazes. The large installation is composed of 42 silhouette figures of a maximum height of 35cm. Seven larger bas-reliefs (80cm H max) complete the cycle. “To have lived and worked in the Casa Woodman was a unique and special experience. The spirit of Betty was everywhere and accompanied me in every step of the creative process.”
